Randomness from the last week of school

When we are running errands and I know there is going to be a bit of driving I ask Paul to grab a book to read.  He chose a piano book to flip through.  Can't hurt, right?
On Tuesday, the last week of school, I rolled my ankle pretty badly, and ended up on crutches for 3 days.  Then strep throat....there may be a chance the universe is telling me to take a break.
May was another month of all green smile faces, so to Braum's we went for ice cream.
Paul chose Freddy's for the last day of school dinner.
So proud of my little man!
And he got a huge ice cream Oreo from Freddy's for dessert!

Paul ended the year reading above grade level, writing mostly decipherable sentences, adding and subtracting, tons of science information, and great friends.  By all accounts, Kindergarten was a success!

They had cake and juice, this was the party he was most excited about.
Aunt Lucy and Grandpa Haynie came
 Mrs. Coe - his teacher
Isabella, Hailey, Mia, and Paul - all children in our ward and also in his school class.
Pavit, Stephen, Caden, Sebastian, Jaylen, Max, Austin, Paul, and Gabriel
Paul's favorite spot in the classroom.
Paul's class - yes Paul is the only one NOT looking.

One year older....

Paul turned six on Sunday, May 26th!  Our church doesn't start until 1:30 so we had the morning to celebrate.
He got a kite.
 A Hot Wheels race track
 Remote control monster truck
 Extra race track pieces

Later we had dinner at Hugh and Lucy's  with Oreo ice cream birthday cake per his very specific request.
He got an angry birds sticker book, a mini magna doodle, and punch balls for all the kids.
Then we had a show after cake!
Party attendees: Hugh, Lucy, Carl, Peggy, Cara, Wes, James, Nicole, Anna, and Kailynn (visiting from Connecticut), Brent (visiting from Utah), Carl, Courtney, Emma Jane, C.J., June, Rocio, Jared, Tzuriel, Evani, Cali, Jared, Amanda, and of course PAUL!  He is one spoiled boy!

My mom and dad got him a bike, Jan and Ralph gave him gummy bears and money to get a present. Lucy got him a car carrier semi truck that he can store his cars in.  He also got money and cards from Billings and Nielsens.  His primary teachers gave him a car and a CTR pencil.  Mrs. Coe, his kindergarten teacher gave him a card and a pencil.

He's a maniac....

Paul's school had a family fun run on Friday night.  Jared wasn't able to come but Paul and I ran/walked the 1 mile course.
 He stretched before we ran.
He beat me (by a long distance) to the finish line so I don't have a picture of him crossing the finish line, but he did get a medal! He ran most of the whole mile, only stopping to walk for a few seconds every once in awhile. This kid loves to run!

Just for funsies

(Paul Miller was going to Kroger to get Hot Wheels.)
Self portrait of Paul with the frame supposed to be the things he loves.  BYU, dad, and hot wheels were the only things to make the list.
